Rayquaza ex 97/97 is a 2003 EX Dragon card distinguished by its dynamic airborne artwork, green-and-black silhouette and classic EX-era formatting. Its visual identity makes it a compelling subject for collectors of dragon-themed designs.
A composition built around movement
Rayquaza cuts diagonally across the illustration, with a wide-open mouth and strong directional lines that suggest speed. The green body, dark accents and red mouth contrast against a starry-looking image field. It is the kind of artwork that reads immediately from a distance yet rewards closer attention to shape and colour.
Details that locate the design in its era
The original card is numbered 97/97 and includes the attacks Spiral Growth and Dragon Burst. Its early EX styling places information differently from many modern cards. When comparing photographs, check the card number, attack headings, rule text area and the overall border rather than relying on the Pokémon name alone.
How to approach an unofficial version
A reproduction can be chosen for the artwork and display presence, but it should not be confused with a genuine EX Dragon release. A studio product shot can help show the design without proving that the physical foil and print processes match the original. Confirm the actual product details before purchasing.
Try this collector idea
For a Rayquaza display, consider a dark neutral background and diffuse side lighting so the green silhouette remains the focus. Keep a collection label noting 'Rayquaza ex 97/97, EX Dragon design, unofficial reproduction' when appropriate.
Is Rayquaza ex 97/97 the same as every other Rayquaza ex?
No. Different releases feature different artwork, numbers and layouts. The 97/97 identifier matters when locating the exact design.
